Supporters of a bill to give pet owners a nifty deduction for pet-care expenses, including veterinary costs -- as much as $3,500 from their 2010 tax returns -- say that there are now millions of people supporting the measure, which was introduced over the summer by Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.)... Supporters of the measure estimate that pet owners spend about $800 a year caring for their pets and, in these hard economic times, more folks are being forced to give up their pets.
