Procrastination, it's just that week
- While the Terminator XXIV trailer looks awesome, we should all keep in mind the dangers and trickery of fighting a battle when at least one side can travel through time. Although, we should admit that "The Terminator" franchise not only elected the Governator but is in fact older than some of our beloved readership (*cough*cough*Stephanie*cough*andpossiblyJustin*cough*) may prove the rule that only the winner is allowed to travel back in time and set things up.
- The folks at CalculatedRisk have some interesting thoughts on oil, that strange commodity whose price really knows little reason and seems to be the only thing other than the 2000 Florida election results to inspire conspiracy in American minds.
- "Academics invent a mathematical equation for why people procrastinate" proves that the best way to advance lazy science is to (a) create a pseudo-mathematical formula that expresses an idea and (b) make sure it has a good hook. After all, it's the hook that keeps them coming back.
- Speaking of procrastination, "afghanistan" looks like it might finally [briefly] overcome "kittens" on the minds of the average American, according to my completely unscientific screwing around with Google Trends. I blame searches like this on the drinking, rather than the 100 proof cynicism, aged in oak barrels.
- I suppose if you're looking for something both inspiring and worth reading, you'll just have to turn to Gates. (Tangent: godsbless Slate for the occassional nonsense but at least for citing articles and providing links, which all other non-blog publications seem to have a problem with.)
