The Weakest Link
Two results from the recent NBC/WSJ Poll – Congressional job approval ratings well below Presidential job approval ratings, yet Congress take a an unambiguous lead in the “take the lead” question. Thoughts?

It astonishes me that any person or group of people could have a lower approval than GWB. I think the lower number on the congressional side reflects:

1. Traditional American ambivalence toward congress
2. All of the republicans hate a democratically-led congress
3. Half of the democrats are pissed because congress is doing precious little to act as a counterweight to GWB

#3 then can feed into the “take the lead” thing – those of us democrats who are annoyed with congress for not leading/resisting, think they should be.
