Since I will be heading home in 17 days (but who's counting?) I figured it was time to start catching up with the headlines a bit more, thus:
BACK IN THE STATES
Drinking games pulled from shelves. Makes sense. If you're too dumb to get by with a pack of cards, a pair of dice, or some ping pong balls, you really shouldn't be drinking anyway.
Back in Washington. A naked construction worker fell about four stories to his death early yesterday at the work site for a new downtown museum, D.C. police and fire officials said. Umm, what?
Rice Rumors. Comedy Central's blog alleges that Dick Cheney will step down next month, to be replaced by Condi Rice. The New Republic's politics blog The Plank seems to have heard the same rumor, adding that John Negroponte's move to the State Department was in preparation for taking over the top job there. (via Economist: Democracy in America)
Sometimes a conspiracy theory just makes too much sense…
Oh yea, and Boxer's questions to Rice made me sick:
"Now, the issue is who pays the price. Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young. You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families."
Obviously there must be something wrong with a women who chooses not to have a family, and such a decision brings into question the woman's judgment.
... Oh what am I saying, all the new Dems make me sick.
