The EU, Brazil, Canada, Chile, India, Korea, Japan and Mexico are authorized to place sanctions worth about $150 million on American products that have benefited from the so-called Byrd Amendment, a measure enacted in 2000 that allows U.S. firms to receive the duties that America imposed on foreign companies deemed to be dumping cheap products in the United States.
