So I'm Sick of Working on Papers
(Another 1:30am update from the computer lab)

"Badong" is a word that seems to be stuck in my head, probably due to its utter lack of having anything to do with this paper. Interestingly, Google found a number of sites refering to one of Brooke's favorite words. Aside from the usual geek gadgets, there is the Urban Dictionary defining badong, accurately, as: adj. both bad and wrong to the utmost. As in: "Killing is wrong...and bad. There should be a new, stronger word for killing. Like badwrong or badong. Yes. Killing is badong." (The site further notes that the opposite of 'badong' is 'gnodab'.)

Possibly even more interesting than this - and, yes, more interesting than Ms. Badong, who created the Philippines opera and epic, Ibalon - is the ancient town of Badong, along the Yangtze. In fact, there seem to be a number of different cruises that feature the wonder and glory that is Badong. We can only dream...

FYI: The Oxford English Dictionary has no reference for 'badong.' The closest 'real word' that it highlights for you is 'badot' - an adj. meaning "silly."
