System Notification
Some of your, our dear, dear readers, have commented on how the subhead for currente calamo... has changed from "a meeting place for minds, and other organs" to "this shaking keeps me steady". The original subhead was a double pun. First, we wanted to make fun of the godawful title that every multi-user blog/bulletin board has had since my Prodigy days. Second, considering how much we (the "people", in a manner of speaking --> ) argue and complain about politics, I expected this to be a venue for us to vent spleen (as it were).
However, both Phil and I have been getting a number of comments about the "penis joke" on our site that, to be honest, it took us (meaning me) a while to figure out what everyone was talking about. Despite the fact that 3/4 of us went to all male, Catholic schools, apparently we have cleaner minds than do the rest of you. So there.
In any event, the new subhead is a line that has come to mean much to us as individuals as well as friends. Ultimately, it is a reference to The Waking, a poem by Theodore Roethke, which can be found here.

EDIT: AS the 1/4 of the Blog team that went to co-ed, public school (albeit in Texas), I just wanted to fix the typos. And add some words for coherency. Don't blame TJ, he's had ebola. --BAM
